My academic career began at Calvin College where I received a bachelor’s degree in biology. From there, I went on to earn a second bachelor’s and master’s in dietetics at D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY. During the completion of my master’s thesis, I interned at an eating disorder clinic in Central NY and discovered my passion for working with this population. I’m a firm believer in the mind-body relationship; full health can only be achieved when both are aligned. After completion of my internship, I was asked to work at the clinic until I returned for my final semester of graduate school. Once graduated, I worked for a government program in NY until moving to Grand Rapids. I live with my husband and our spunky chocolate lab pup, Lily. We love hiking, camping, and exploring the National Parks together. In my free time I enjoy trying new recipes, buying excessive amounts of indoor plants, and watching reruns of my favorite show, Friends.
