Support Groups

CTED sponsors a free community support group for anyone in recovery from an eating disorder as well as their family members and friends. The group meets from 7 - 8:15 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. Jennifer Wisniewski, MA, LLP, is the current group leader, partnering with Karen Holmquist, AT, a Forest View employee. On the 4th Monday, Gail Hall, LMSW, attends and leads a separate forum for family members and support individuals. The group meets in the community room of Forest View Hospital, 1055 Medical Park Drive SE. Forest View is very close to our office. Please park on the south side and use the Community Room/PHP entrance. The group is free; no preregistration is required. For more information on the group, please call  616-957-7700; or e-mail info@eatingdisordersmichigan.com

CTED is also happy to partner with Alison Call to provide a group in the Holland area. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays, 7 p.m., at the Herrick Library. Contact Alison directly at: alisonv2@hotmail.com

Yoga Group

Many individuals who struggle with eating disorders experience a disconnect with their physical selves. Reconnecting body and mind is an important part of the recovery journey. We are now offering a yoga class at CTED where interested individuals can explore what yoga has to offer in a safe environment. Class size is small so that yoga instruction can be tailored to each participant, regardless of current physical condition. Our instructor, Dana Christian Lee, believes yoga was the key to her recovery and is eager to offer her insights to encourage those still struggling. As class times vary, please contact us for more information. Your friends and family members may also attend.
